Shotgun (a division of Autodesk) builds scalable production tracking, review, and asset management software for media and entertainment studios in film, TV and games production.
Shotgun provides creative studios and remote collaborators the ability to increase efficiency in their production processes and reduce risk through more transparent processes. The Shotgun team comes from film, TV and games production, and is passionate about building tools to help studios meet the challenges of fast‐moving, globally distributed production – so that they can actually enjoy the process to bring their inspiring work to the world.
We were hired by Autodesk to support a dedicated executive search.
The Unique Challenge:
We were hired by Autodesk and Shotgun to find their impossible-to-find Director of Product that could vision form and collaborate with the former CEO of Shotgun (now Senior Director, Autodesk), and lead the product and project management with the team.
Standards on technical and culture fit were high to ensure Shotgun could evolve on the 2-year roadmap that would continue to surpass and delight their international film, tv and games customers.
We collaborated very closely with the hiring manager in San Francisco, the CEO of Shotgun in LA and the talent acquisition team in Montreal, for a role that would be located in either Los Angeles or San Francisco. This case study information will be updated following the post-hiring coaching phase, in 2017.

Comments from Autodesk & Shotgun
"Working with FORWARD has been great! They are proactive, they listen to our needs and not only deliver quality candidates, but a truly positive client service experience. FORWARD keeps us informed and updated at all stages and does the same with candidates. I am extremely satisfied with their service." Talent Acquisition Leader, Autodesk (Media & Entertainment)
"Caroline leads a “talent solutions” firm that is re-thinking what I’d normally think of as executive recruiting and coaching. We just partnered with her to find our new Head of Product, and her and her team did an amazing job helping us find an A-lister. I couldn’t recommend her and her team highly enough."
