The Client:
Azubu is a global broadcast network delivering premium live and on demand eSports action, programming, news and analysis. eSports is one of the fastest growing trends in games and it’s become the intersection between live gaming and broadcast to create a truly competitive games broadcast event.
We were hired by the CEO of Azubu not once, but twice, to source an HR Director in 2014, and later a Vice President of Human Resources and Operations for their LA HQ, in 2015.
The first HR Director was during their early growth phase, and later the VP HR and Operations was hired to take a more strategic and leadership development role, alongside the CEO.
The Unique Challenge:
We needed to search and select a VP-level leadership development oriented human resources generalist that could manage and inspire talent performance with a millennial workforce and senior management team. The VP HR and Operations needed to be hands-on with traditional compliance and generalist needs. Due to the early innovation nature of eSports globally, we needed to find an HR specialist that could see the future of eSports broadcast to lead the team to it’s future vision.
